Creating a little time for your self every day is the ultimate self-care. It’s hard to find time in our busy, fast-paced lives, but it’s essential. Self-healing is about building a deeper relationship with yourself by learning to listen to and honor your body. The body is always communicating with us. By taking time to come into our inner world, we begin to understand  ourselves in new ways. Gentle movement and breathing practices create space within the body and mind by removing blockages that may be there. Once the blockages are removed, our inner energy can flow. And because our inner energy has it’s own knowing, we get to sit back and relax while it does it’s own work!

A few suggestions to get the most benefit:

* wear loose, comfortable clothing so energy can flow easily

* practice in a clear, clean space with no distractions where you will be undisturbed for at least 20 minutes. You want to create a space where you feel safe to explore and go deep.

* have a chair and blanket near by so you can adjust yourself to more comfort if need be.

* open window at least a crack to let fresh air in

* respect and be where you are.  Be with yourself without judgement, without analyzing or figuring out why something is (or is not).  Work with just being and accepting everything as is.

* work to your edge while you honor yourself and your body.  Every time you sit for practice it will be different.

* at the core of our practice is the breath, so remember to breathe! When your mind becomes busy, gently bring your attention back to your breath. Follow the flow of your breath. Notice where the breath is in your body. Float on the ocean of your own practice.
